Fresno State quarterback Jayden Mandal scored four times to lead the Bulldogs past Oregon State 38-22 on Saturday night in Fresno, California. The result snapped a five-game winning streak for the Beavers, who had not lost since their season opener.

Mandal threw two touchdown passes to Josiah Freeman and rushed for two scores of his own. Freeman’s 31-yard reception in the third quarter and 26-yard catch at halftime gave Fresno State a commanding lead. Bryson Donelson added a rushing touchdown on a 63-yard run, the longest of the season for the Bulldogs, and finished with 108 total yards from scrimmage.

The Fresno State defense disrupted Oregon State quarterback Braden Atkinson, who completed 33 passes for 373 yards but threw for only one score. The Bulldogs recorded five sacks, two by Dylan Hampsten. Oregon State had allowed just nine sacks in its first seven games of the season.

Atkinson found Eric Olsen for a 9-yard touchdown with 1:45 remaining to close the gap. DeCorion Temple caught nine passes for 97 yards, while freshman Jesse Legree had seven receptions for 70 yards. The Beavers lost two fumbles and failed to convert on three fourth-down attempts.

Oregon State improved to 5-3 overall and 3-1 in the Pac-12 Conference. Fresno State is now 5-3 and 2-2 in conference play. The Bulldogs had lost two straight games before this victory. Oregon State hosts Texas State next Saturday. Fresno State travels to Utah State next Saturday.
