Allison Albro, a 21-year-old resident of Daytona Beach, faces written threats of assassination after posting on social media that she intended to shoot President Donald Trump.

According to the Volusia County Sheriff’s Office, Albro shared an image of herself on Thursday night with a message stating she would attend a presidential rally to fire a Glock at the leader.

Agents from the Volusia County Sheriff’s Office and the United States Secret Service visited Albro’s location that same evening.

The sheriff’s office stated on Facebook that Albro claimed the post was a joke. She said she did not have access to a Glock or any other firearm and asserted she would never harm anyone.

Albro is currently held in jail on charges of making written threats of assassination and the unlawful use of a communication device.

Sheriff Mike Chitwood advised anyone considering posting a similar joke to think twice.

President Trump is scheduled to hold a campaign rally in Daytona Beach this afternoon in support of Byron Donalds for governor, Ashley Moody for the Senate, and Randy Fine for the House of Representatives in Florida.
