KRPI Radio published a detailed privacy policy on Nov. 5 that defines how the station collects and manages user data on its website. The document serves as a supplement to the station's general terms of service. By using the site, visitors agree to these specific guidelines. The station reserves the right to modify the policy at any time by posting revisions to the site.

The policy distinguishes between two categories of data: personally identifiable information and aggregated non-personally identifiable information. Personally identifiable data includes names, usernames, addresses, postal codes, telephone numbers, e-mail addresses, age, marital status, income levels, education levels, intentions, preferences, and opinions. KRPI Radio states it only collects this type of information when individuals provide it voluntarily. Aggregated information consists of anonymous data, such as the type of browser a user operates.

Registration is required for certain site features, including entry into specific contests. Users may choose not to provide personal information, but doing so may limit their access to specific products or services. The station may also request voluntary information to make general improvements to the site and to ensure content standards are met. This data allows the station to contact prize winners and serve specific user interests.

KRPI Radio and its business partners, including SHER-E-PUNJAB RADIO, reserve the right to use, maintain, update, disclose, or sell aggregate information to third parties. The station uses cookies or similar files to track usage patterns, identify repeat users, and collect demographic data. These tools help tailor the visitor experience and display content according to user preferences.

The policy lists specific purposes for using user information, including improving site content, personalizing layouts, notifying visitors of updates, and identifying preferences. It also covers establishing eligibility for special offers, completing business transactions, and providing customer support. If a user wins a contest, KRPI Radio and its sponsors may publish the winner's name and city of residence.

In the event of a sale of substantial business assets, customer information may be transferred to the purchaser. The new owner would inherit the confidentiality obligations outlined in the policy. The station works with third parties to fulfill orders, provide music streaming, send e-mail, and process credit card payments. Personally identifiable information is disclosed to these parties only to the extent necessary to provide specific services.

Third-party advertising companies serve ads on the site using non-personally identifiable aggregated information. These companies use the data to provide advertisements for goods and services that may interest the user. The policy states that neither KRPI Radio nor third parties will attempt to link anonymous aggregated traffic data to individual visitors. Users can opt out of receiving e-mails or promotional information by checking appropriate boxes on the site.

The station stores personal information on secured servers behind a firewall at a data center with strictly controlled access. Only individuals specifically involved in data analysis have access to personally identifiable information. These employees receive training on the station's privacy policies and practices. Unauthorized use of the site may result in criminal or civil prosecution.
