A Hampshire woman received a suspended prison sentence after shoving her own faeces into her husband's mouth during a domestic dispute.
Alison Moore, 63, admitted to three charges of assault connected to an incident on August 20 at the couple's one million pound farmhouse in Damerham, near the New Forest National Park.
Southampton Crown Court reviewed evidence from the afternoon, which began with a visit to a pub. Prosecutors stated that Moore felt her husband, Rob, had not defended her when pub staff refused service. She subsequently labeled him boring and threatened to make him eat what she described as his own words.
Around 6:00 p.m., Moore executed the threat in what prosecutor Andrew Coley characterized as a premedated attack. A selfie taken by Mr. Moore before he cleaned up showed his face covered in excrement. The court also heard about two additional assaults: Moore struck her husband while wearing a ring and later hit him with a broom handle.
Judge Gary Lucie described the use of faeces as a gratuitous degradation. He noted that Moore had faced personal hardships, including the deaths of both parents in 2024 and 2025, as well as the loss of a sister and an uncle earlier this year. Despite these circumstances, the judge stated that such events did not excuse the behavior.
The judge issued a 12-month prison term suspended for 18 months. Moore spent three weeks in custody at HMP Bronzefield prior to sentencing. She is currently residing in an Airbnb in Wimborne. Defense attorney Rose Burns noted that Moore regrets the actions and has begun private mental health treatment for depression and alcohol use.
The couple left the courthouse together. Moore has previous convictions for driving under the influence, assault, and violent entry into a property. Those prior offenses stemmed from a 2022 incident involving a former partner. The court ordered her to complete 100 hours of community service and pay compensation to the previous assault victim.
