Haleigh Leanne Spradlin, 23, was taken into custody in Coweta County, Georgia, after deputies responded to a report of gunfire near a residential driveway. The arrest followed an incident involving a local deer hunter who was sitting in a stand on his own property.
The victim told investigators that he was monitoring a live camera feed connected to his driveway when two cars pulled in. He watched as Spradlin exited one of the vehicles and fired a weapon toward the woods where he was positioned. The hunter ducked inside his stand to avoid the bullets and was not injured in the exchange.
Deputies at the scene recovered shell casings from the ground. They also examined a vehicle with a flat tire, which authorities believe may be linked to the shooting. The initial call to law enforcement sounded like a hunting accident, but investigators determined the gunfire was part of a family dispute.
The victim stated that Spradlin had posted threatening messages about him on social media earlier that day. The posts warned that his day was coming, according to the account provided to police.
Spradlin was arrested at her home, where deputies located both vehicles matching the descriptions given by the victim. She has been charged with reckless conduct and drug possession. She is currently held at the Coweta County Jail.
Investigators have not identified the driver of the second car or released the specific type of firearm used. Authorities also have not disclosed the specific drugs recovered during the arrest. No other suspects have been named in connection with the incident.
