Los Angeles rapper Lucy Bedroque will perform at the Metro on December 1 and December 2. The shows are scheduled for 7:30 p.m. at 3730 N. Clark Street. The December 1 tickets cost $35 plus fees, or $37.84 in advance. The December 2 performance has already sold out. Both events are open to all ages.
Bedroque is known for tracks that push audio equipment to its limits. This intensity is common in the rage rap subgenre. However, the artist adds layers of texture to the loud sounds. Listeners may initially focus on the pummeling volume. With repeated listens, they notice bass lines that move slowly, percussion that builds in intensity, and heavily processed vocals.
The artist’s recent work includes the 2025 album Unmusique. Their follow-up album, C, was released in September. Both records came out on the independent label Deadair. That label has also released music by Jane Remover, a Chicago-based artist who has helped shape digicore and hyperpop. Bedroque’s experimental style fits within these electronic subgenres.
The music is characterized by fidgety and uncompromising experimentation. Tracks often shift direction quickly. Because the songs are brief, these shifts happen in a rapid rush. On the track C Section, Bedroque uses Auto-Tuned vocals over sputtering percussion. A melody made from chopped vocal samples runs underneath. The artist changes their flow to create bursts of energy.
The December 1 show is not yet sold out. The December 2 show is full. The venue is the Metro. The address is 3730 N. Clark Street. The start time is 7:30 p.m. for both nights. The event is described as an all-ages show.
