Most Valuable Promotions announced that Amanda Serrano will fight one final time on January 9. The bout is titled 'The Last Walk' and will take place at the Coliseo de Puerto Rico in San Juan.
Serrano, 38, will defend her unified WBO and WBA featherweight world titles against Australia's Skye Falzon. Serrano holds a professional record of 50 wins, 4 losses, and 1 draw. She has stopped her opponents 32 times. Falzon, also 38, enters the matchup with 12 wins, 2 losses, and 7 knockouts.
The fighter from Puerto Rico has won world titles in seven different weight divisions. She is the only undisputed boxing champion from the island. Serrano currently shares the all-time women's knockout record with American Christy Martin.
In a statement, Serrano described boxing as her life. She said she could not have imagined the journey the sport took her and her family on. She recalled the early days of women's boxing, which often took place in small theatre venues. She noted that the sport has since grown to headline Madison Square Garden in New York and reach millions of fans.
Serrano and Ireland's Katie Taylor made history in 2022 as the first women to headline Madison Square Garden. Their rivalry produced three fights. Taylor won the trilogy, taking the third meeting by majority decision in 2025.
Serrano has also pushed for equality in the rules. In 2023, she fought in the first women's unified world championship bout contested over 12 three-minute rounds. She later vacated her WBC title to maintain her commitment to those equal rules.
Nakisa Bidarian and Jake Paul, founders of Most Valuable Promotions, called the event a celebration of an athlete who changed the sport. They stated that January 9 will mark the end of her career inside the ring.
