The YMCA of South Alabama has scheduled a fundraising event for Friday, November 6. The gathering, titled Good Times for a Good Cause, will take place from 6:00 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. at Moe’s Original BBQ in Daphne, Alabama.

The evening features food, bingo, and callers from local community leadership. All proceeds will support the Y’s Financial Assistance Program. This initiative provides grants to residents who cannot otherwise afford program fees.

The YMCA of South Alabama operates as a nonprofit organization in the Mobile area. Its services extend beyond fitness centers to include afterschool care, summer camps, swim lessons, and youth sports. The organization also runs programs specifically designed for older adults.

According to the organization, the financial aid ensures that cost does not prevent participation. The YMCA states its mission is to strengthen families and create opportunities for people of all ages. It serves the region through direct programs and partnerships.

The organization is currently exploring ways to expand its reach across the region. It aims to better serve families throughout the Mobile area. The event is the primary mechanism for raising the necessary funds for this assistance program.

Residents can access event details and registration information at ysal.org/goodtimes. The event serves as a community gathering to support the nonprofit's ongoing operations and financial aid initiatives.
