Ohio State University named Cathy Predmore the permanent executive director of the Wexner Center for the Arts on Wednesday.
The new role begins Nov. 1.
Predmore currently serves as the interim director of the center. She also manages marketing and communications for the institution. Her background includes more than 30 years of executive experience in strategic planning and fundraising.
Trevor Brown, the interim executive vice president and provost, said Predmore provided clear guidance during her interim tenure. He stated that her leadership helped the center maintain its status as a destination for contemporary art.
"During her interim tenure, Cat has offered exceptionally clear and steady guidance, establishing the center’s strategic direction and fostering creative autonomy across the institution," Brown said.
Predmore previously worked as a senior vice president at the national communications agency Fahlgren Mortine. In that role, she managed marketing programs for U.S. museums and universities. Her work focused on growing membership bases and meeting revenue goals.
She has also served on the boards of the Yogi Berra Museum & Learning Center and The Contemporary Theatre of Ohio. Predmore received several national awards for charitable giving campaigns and corporate partnerships.
"A resource for the culturally curious, the Wexner Center holds a distinctive position both within Ohio State and across the Columbus arts community," Predmore said. "Leading this center and working alongside a passionate, talented team devoted to advancing contemporary art is a profound honor."
The Wexner Center operates as a multidisciplinary laboratory for contemporary art. It hosts exhibitions, performances, and artist residencies for established and emerging creators.
